David Baker (born 1962) is an American biochemist and computational biologist. Baker was born in Seattle on 6 October 1962.
Baker worked in computational biology, molecular engineering and protein design. He was attached to University of Washington and University of Washington School of Medicine (from 2005).
The honours on record include Overton Prize (2001), Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, Feynman Prize in Nanotechnology (2004), Packard Fellowship for Science and Engineering (1994) and Nobel Prize in Chemistry (2024). Baker was elected to National Academy of Sciences and American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He studied at University of California, Berkeley (Doctor of Philosophy) and University of California, San Francisco.
Baker married Hannele Ruohola-Baker.
